Job summary
The Objective: To provide unbiased, cold-fact intelligence on land tracts exceeding 50+ acres. You are an independent investigator, NOT a real estate agent. You do not earn commissions or “success fees” from sellers. You are paid to identify risks, liabilities, and reasons why we should NOT proceed with a purchase.
Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Social Mapping & Oral History: Conduct “shadow interviews” with non-interested parties (market women, neighboring farmers, local palm wine tappers) to uncover hidden land disputes, overlapping claims, or unrecorded ancestral ties.
- Accessibility & Logistics Stress-Test: Document exact drive times from the nearest tarred road. Report on road conditions during/after rainfall and accessibility for heavy construction equipment.
- Physical Perimeter Audit: Walk the entire 50+ acre boundary to locate and document hidden shrines, graves, ruins, or existing customary “Ishakole” (tenant) farming activities.
- Boundary & Identity Verification: Identify and interview owners of all adjacent lands (North, South, East, West) to confirm boundary consensus.
- Weekly Intelligence Log: Submit a comprehensive digital report every Friday, featuring GPS-stamped evidence and a “Red Flag” summary.
Requirements:
- We are looking for individuals (Yoruba speakers) with a high degree of integrity and an “investigative” mindset. This role is ideal for: Law Graduates (LL.B) waiting for Law School or currently serving (NYSC) in Oyo State.
- Journalists or Private Investigators with experience in field-based fact-finding.
- Retired Civil Servants from the Ministry of Lands or Local Government.
- Anyone with a proven ability to “cross-examine” information and produce high-quality written reports.
Technical Requirements:
- Must own a smartphone with a high-quality camera and functional GPS.
- Proficiency in using Timestamp/GPS Camera apps (e.g., Conota or Timestamp Camera Pro) to provide non-forgeable proof of site visits.
Role: Property Intelligence & Due Diligence Officer
Location: Oyo State (Field-based: Oke-Ogun axis)
Work Type: 3-Month Fixed Contract (Salaried; Renewable based on performance)
Remuneration: NGN 150,00 – 180,00 per month (Negotiable)
