Job Description
A plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. They ensure proper functioning of pipes, drainage systems, and fixtures such as toilets, sinks, and showers.
Key responsibilities of a plumber include:
- Reading blueprints and determining the layout of plumbing systems
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures
- Testing and inspecting plumbing systems for leaks and other issues
- Collaborating with construction teams to ensure plumbing systems are installed correctly during new construction projects
- Responding to emergency plumbing situations
- Providing guidance and assistance to customers on plumbing system maintenance and repairs
To excel in this role, a plumber should have a strong understanding of plumbing codes, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
