Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher to join our secondary school in Surulere. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for mathematics education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage and inspire students. The Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for creating an engaging learning environment, delivering effective lessons, and fostering a positive attitude towards mathematics among secondary school students.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Create lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom that aligns with our comprehensive curriculum.
- Conduct effective and engaging mathematics lessons for secondary school students by utilizing various teaching methods and resources to ensure understanding and retention of mathematical concepts.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and critical thinking.
- Administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress.
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their performance and offer support for improvement.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a conducive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
- Communicate regularly with the principal to provide updates on students’ progress and discuss strategies for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree/Higher National Diploma in Mathematics Education or related field
- Proven experience as a Mathematics Teacher in a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of secondary-level mathematics curriculum and instructional methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for fostering a positive attitude towards mathematics among students.
