We are seeking to hire an ideal candidate for a Lead legal service role for our client.
Educational & Professional Requirement:
- First degree or its equivalent in Law or international equivalent from a reputable University.
- LL.M or Postgraduate degree in Law from a recognized University and a Diploma in Legal Practice of a recognized Bar Course.
- Professional legal practice and progressive experience of not less than 8 years with a minimum of three years of supervisory or lead responsibility.
- Strong business acumen, stakeholder management, organizational, communication, and schedule management skills.
- Experience in the FMCG industry is an added advantage.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Assist in providing strategic direction and leadership on legal services which are in alignment with the company’s corporate strategy.
- Provide legal advice, interpretation, and guidance to the company management team regarding contracts, state and federal regulatory requirements, intellectual property, and other business-related matters.
- Represent the company internally and externally in negotiation, dispute resolution, consultations, and other proceedings that require legal representation.
- Provide guidance on the proper application and interpretation of laws and regulations as applicable to company business and ensure the adequacy of controls to mitigate legal and other risks or concerns that may arise.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the Unit and processes in line with established SOP and objectives of the company.
- Provide substantive guidance, advice, and training on contract negotiation and drafting, and process implementation and improvement.
