Job Description
A Heavy Equipment and Machinery Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining heavy industrial equipment and machinery. This includes excavators, loaders, bulldozers, cranes, and other heavy machinery used in construction, mining, or manufacturing industries.
The primary duties of a Heavy Equipment and Machinery Mechanic include diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting electrical and hydraulic systems. They are also responsible for repairing and replacing faulty parts, performing welding and fabrication tasks, and ensuring that all equipment is in safe and proper working condition.
Successful candidates for this position should have a strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and hydraulic systems. They should possess excellent problem-solving skills, be able to read and interpret technical manuals, and have experience working with various hand and power tools.
This is a physically demanding role that requires individuals to work in outdoor environments and sometimes in confined spaces.
