Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a senior logistics professional to work for a leading international shipping and logistics company, supporting their expansion and building a new logistics business unit in Togo and Benin.
As the Head of Logistics, you will be responsible for driving a new logistics division, establishing processes and procedures, and organizing and coordinating all logistics activities.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing new business, driving sales, and developing relationships with clients
- Developing intermodal service products
- Coordinating and managing freight forwarding and logistics activities
- Coordinating with freight forwarders, warehouse providers, and shipping companies
- Developing strong working relationships with suppliers
- Modeling end-to-end cost and profit margins to optimize earnings
- Tendering and winning long-term contracts
The role offers real opportunities to grow a team and build a business unit from the ground up.
Personal requirements:
- Operational experience coordinating logistics and freight forwarding activities
- Track record in sales, winning new business, and building strong client relationships
- Must have an entrepreneurial mindset
- Previous experience running your own business or working in a start-up environment is advantageous but not required
- Experience in handling contract and payment terms
