Job Description
Position: Guidance Counselor
Company: School in Maryland
Reports to: Vice Principal for Student Affairs, Head of Schools
Supervises: Students
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure students seeking guidance are attended to.
- Conduct career and educational planning activities.
- Implement individual and group counseling sessions.
- Facilitate student placements into appropriate studies.
- Oversee mentoring assemblies and sessions.
- Connect individuals with referral agencies.
- Assist students in setting academic and career goals.
Education and Work Experience:
- First degree in Guidance Counseling or Psychology.
- Master’s Degree in Counseling/Psychology is desirable.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience.
Skills and Competences:
- Knowledge of counseling and psycho-therapy.
- Active listening and communication skills.
- Confidentiality, coaching, and critical thinking skills.
- Emotional intelligence and performance improvement.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Improved student behaviors.
- Reduced conflicts.
- Accurate records and successful placements.

Pay: ₦150,00.00 – ₦220,00.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Lagos: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
