Job Description

The position exists to support the Church’s missionary work by providing professional, safe, and secure driving services to missionaries, mission leaders, visiting authorities, guests, and other individuals. The role also involves safely transporting missionary supplies, packages, and materials, as well as performing other duties as assigned, by applying knowledge of driving regulations and following instructions. The candidate shall also maintain vehicle logs, ensure that vehicle records are properly kept and current, and inspect the vehicle regularly to ensure optimal performance and operation. Occasional work on weekends may be required.

Provides safe and secure driving services to missionaries, the mission leaders, and visitors.

Ensures the safety of missionaries and other visiting authorities while in transit.

Assists in transporting other missionaries or running errands, as directed by the mission leaders.

Verifies goods against shipping documents.

Maintains vehicle logs, proper and current vehicle records.

Performs basic maintenance and vehicle fault troubleshooting skills Inspect vehicles regularly to ensure optimal performance and operation.

May load and unload mission vehicles.

May provide traffic precautions and emergency roadside repairs. Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Typically requires a high school education or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years previous work experience.
  • Previous driving experience, a good driving record, and safety minded.
  • Must possess an appropriate driver’s license.
  • Basic knowledge of auto mechanics. Ability to follow directions and/or maps.
  • Basic reading, math, and communication skills.  Demonstrated ability to care for and highly regard church vehicles and equipment.
  • Driving License and Driving Skills: A valid driving license is required. The candidate should have practical driving experience and be capable of driving safely on regular routes within the region. A good understanding of local traffic rules is necessary
