Job Description
A Dental Therapist is a professional who assists in providing dental care and treatment to patients. They work under the supervision of a licensed dentist and perform various tasks related to dental procedures and patient care.
Responsibilities of a Dental Therapist may include:
- Conducting initial patient assessments and examinations
- Performing dental cleanings and scaling
- Assisting dentists during oral surgeries and other procedures
- Taking and developing dental X-rays
- Administering anesthesia and applying topical medications
- Educating patients on oral health practices and proper dental care
- Maintaining dental equipment and ensuring sterilization standards are met
