Job Description

JOB POSITION: Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW).

JOB LOCATION: Olodi-apapa, Lagos.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice.
• Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients’ charts
• Administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s order.
• Provide instant medical care in emergencies
• Performing physical exams.
• Wound care (change of dressing and bandages, removal of stitches or staples)
• Competent in clinical evaluation and management of emergency, medical and surgical patients.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have current licences.
• Minimum qualification: OND, HND
• Familiarity with medical documentation using electronic medical records.

SKILLS:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to help patients understand their options and potential implications.
• Interpersonal skills to develop professional relationships with patients.
• Collaborative skills to work with other medical care providers.
• Basic computer skills.
