Job Description

The Category Lead is responsible for managing and driving the growth of a specific category within our organization. They will oversee all aspects of the category, including product selection, pricing, promotion, and distribution. The Category Lead will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, sales, and operations to develop and execute category strategies that align with our business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape within the category.
  • Develop and implement category plans to increase sales, market share, and profitability.
  • Drive product assortment and selection, ensuring a well-balanced mix of products that meets customer demand.
  • Analyze sales data to optimize pricing strategies and identify opportunities for promotional activities.
  • Work closely with suppliers to negotiate contracts, optimize costs, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and execute marketing campaigns specific to the category.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess stock.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies within the category.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in category management or related roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
