Job Description
As a Category Buyer – Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing activities within a specific category of products or services. Your primary role will involve identifying and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the procurement process is efficient and cost-effective.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category sourcing strategies and plans
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions
- Monitor and analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their specific needs and requirements
- Manage supplier relationships and address any issues or concerns
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of procurement processes, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to develop effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
