Job Description
Job summary
The cargo handler is responsible for loading, unloading, moving, and organizing cargo in a safe and efficient manner. This role supports warehouse, port, airport, or logistics operations by ensuring goods are handled carefully, accurately documented, and prepared for storage or transportation
Job descriptions & requirements
- Load and unload cargo from cars, trucks and containers.
- Sort, label, and organize goods according to shipping instructions
- Inspect cargo for damage, shortages, or irregularities and report issues
- Operate basic handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (where authorised).
- Secure cargo to prevent damage during transportation
- Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times
- Previous experience in cargo handling, warehousing, or logistics is an added advantage
- Physical strength and ability to lift heavy items
- Basic knowledge of safety regulations and cargo handling procedures
Requirements:
- A minimum of an OND in a related field.
- A minimum of a year of experience.
