Job Description
INSURANCE UNDERWRITER AND CLAIMS INSURANCE EXECUTIVE JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Involvement in the renewal process of all insurance policies.
- Registration and acknowledgment of claims in the claim register.
- Opening of the claim file and generation of claim reference number.
- Notifying the brokers on new claims.
- Requesting claim supporting documents from the unit involved for onward delivery to brokers.
- Following up with the unit to ensure timely submission of required documents.
- Ensuring prompt appointment of loss adjusters for claims investigation.
- Following up on claim settlements and updating payment records.
- Keeping updated claim registers for tracking outstanding documents.
- Keeping accurate records of reports from risk adjusters/investigators.
- Following up on Good-in-Transit declarations and ensuring timely payments.
- Performing any additional duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B. Sc/HND – Insurance/Actuarial Science or Allied Discipline.
- Membership of Insurance Bodies is advantageous.
- Minimum 4/5 years’ experience in manufacturing or processing companies preferred.
