Job Description
A Dental Therapist plays a crucial role in providing dental care to patients. As a Dental Therapist, you will work closely with dentists and other dental professionals to diagnose and treat common dental issues. Your responsibilities will include performing dental cleanings, applying fluoride treatments, taking impressions, and providing oral hygiene instructions to patients.
In addition, you will assist dentists during various dental procedures, such as fillings, extractions, and root canal treatments. You may also be involved in providing preventive care, educating patients on proper oral health practices, and promoting dental hygiene in the community.
To excel in this role, you should have excellent communication skills, as you will be interacting with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Attention to detail and manual dexterity are essential, as precision is necessary when working in patients’ mouths. Furthermore, you must have a strong understanding of dental treatment protocols and follow strict infection control measures.
