Job Description
The BBC is an international multimedia broadcaster on radio, TV, online and social networks with a weekly global audience of 320 million. As part of an historic multi-million pound expansion of BBC Africa, the BBC World Service is introducing a wide range of new and exciting language and regional content to serve African and global audiences.
We are recruiting to fill the position of Video Journalist in Lagos, Nigeria on a full-time basis.
Main Responsibilities
- Produce, record, and edit video content with speed, professionalism, and creativity for the Igbo Service team.
- Offer story ideas and routinely self-shoot and edit news packages for multiple platforms.
- Be prepared for short notice travel.
Are you the Right Candidate?
- First-class video journalism skills, with the ability to gather and prepare audio, still footage, and video material for broadcast.
- Storytelling ability through the use of audio, photography, and video.
- Able to spot potential newsworthy stories for use on any BBC service.
- Ability to adapt to the distinct requirements of different output platforms used by the BBC.
- Proficient in spoken, read, and written Igbo language and English.
