Job Description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underwriting Team Lead to join our dynamic team. As the Underwriting Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the underwriting process within our organization.
Your primary role will involve leading a team of underwriters, guiding them in evaluating and assessing risks associated with insurance applications. You will review underwriting decisions and provide feedback to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Additionally, you will collaborate with other departments, such as sales and claims, to foster effective communication and streamline the underwriting workflow. You will also be involved in training and mentoring team members, sharing your expertise to enhance their skills and knowledge in underwriting.
To be successful in this role, you should possess a thorough understanding of underwriting principles and practices, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to make sound business judgments. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills are also essential.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience
- Proven track record of leading a successful underwriting team
- In-depth knowledge of insurance policies and regulations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
