IVAN is a leading health research institute within the University of Nigeria dedicated to strengthening research capacity and promoting innovation in health systems and public health. The institute supports funding acquisition and offers expertise through specialized centers, including the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects Administration (ORSPA), Center for Strategic Integration (CSI), and Nursing Center for Evidence-Based Practice (NCEBP). Other centers include the Sunrise Oncology Applied Research (SOAR) Center, the Center for Behavioral Science Research (CBSR), and the Center for Translation and Implementation Research (CTAIR). IVAN fosters collaborative research efforts to drive advancements in health and well-being in Nigeria and beyond.
Role Description
We are seeking a dedicated Research Fellow for a full-time, on-site position based in Enugu. The Research Fellow will be responsible for designing and conducting research projects, analyzing data, preparing reports and publications, and contributing to grant writing and proposals to secure research funding. Additional tasks include collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, leading dissemination of research findings, and mentoring junior researchers to develop capacities within the institute.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in research design, data analysis, and academic writing
- Experience with grant writing, manuscript preparation, and publishing in peer-reviewed journals
- Proficiency in statistical software and tools for quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and solve complex research challenges
- Familiarity with public health policies and health systems research is an advantage
- A Doctoral degree (PhD) or equivalent in Public Health, Epidemiology, Behavioral Sciences, or related fields
- Previous experience in an academic or research institution is highly desirable
