Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Boat Captain to join our maritime operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation and navigation of pilot/surfer boats, ensuring the highest standards of safety and professionalism at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Command and navigate pilot/surfer boats in various weather and sea conditions
- Ensure the safety of all passengers, crew, and vessel operations
- Conduct pre-departure safety inspections and equipment checks
- Maintain accurate navigation logs and vessel documentation
- Coordinate with harbor authorities and other maritime personnel
- Supervise crew members and delegate responsibilities as needed
- Respond effectively to emergency situations
- Ensure compliance with all maritime regulations and safety protocols
Essential Requirements:
- 3-5 years of proven experience as Captain of pilot boats and/or surfer boats
- Valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) Certificate of Competency (COC) – minimum requirement
- Strong knowledge of maritime navigation and safety regulations
- Excellent seamanship and boat handling skills
- Current medical fitness certificate for maritime service
