Job Description
EdFin Microfinance Bank is an international financial institution headquartered in Lagos State. We have partnered with Gray Matters Capital in the USA, India, and Latin America.
We are currently looking for a Finance Intern to join our team in Lagos.
Description:
- Daily processing of Payment Voucher and Journal Voucher.
- Daily Supervision and processing of Petty Cash payment. Reconciliation of petty cash Gl.
- On a monthly basis, ensure all statutory deductions are timely remitted.
- Serves as competent support, backup, or reliever for Senior Finance Officer. Assist/Participate in report preparation and other assigned tasks. Must be a good team player.
- Supports/ Participates to ensure month-end closure/processing is completed according to the timeline.
- Collation and preparation of daily bank balances for Chief Finance Officer (CFO).
- Ensure effective and timely processing and remitting of Regulatory/Statutory payments (PAYE, Pension, etc) according to the provision of the law and approval. Handles VAT filling, statutory/regulatory issues- CAC bi-annual return, Tax, etc as directed by the CFO.
- Ensure that weekly, monthly finance reports are prepared on time.
- Any other task as may be assigned by the CFO.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or another relevant field.
- At least 2 years of experience in the finance department of reputable Microfinance Bank(s).
- Good computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Knowledge / Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment.
