Job Description
A Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the systems that manage and analyze large-scale datasets. They work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data pipelines and infrastructure are optimized for data processing, integration, and storage.
The key responsibilities of a Data Engineer include:
- Designing and implementing scalable data models and database systems
- Developing and maintaining data pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading
- Building and optimizing data integration processes from various sources
- Creating and managing data warehouses and data lakes
- Performing data quality assessments and implementing data governance practices
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data infrastructure and analytics capabilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
- Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or Scala
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka
- Proficiency in SQL and database management
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, GCP)
