Job Description

We seek an accountant to oversee all financial transactions, including fixed payments, variable expenses, bank deposits, and budget management. The accountant’s duties encompass auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements, and calculating tax payments and returns. Prior experience in bookkeeping and a knack for identifying numerical errors are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting transactions.
• Develop cash budgets.
• Ensure timely publication of financial statements.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Guarantee prompt bank payments.
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns.
• Handle balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
• Provide reports on the company’s financial health and liquidity.
• Conduct audits of financial transactions and documents.
• Reinforce confidentiality of financial data and perform database backups when necessary.
• Adhere to financial policies and regulations.

Requirements and Skills:

• Prior work experience as an accountant.
• Proficient understanding of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as FreeBooks and QuickBooks.
• Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
• Familiarity with general ledger functions.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₦50,00.00 – ₦70,00.00 per month
